About the Event

The 5th edition of the Paradox & Plurality Annual Meeting will discuss organizational and societal problems around the Healthcare sector, from a paradoxical perspective. The debate will focus on contributing to the SDG 3 agenda, which aims to guarantee Quality Health to the entire population. The event is annually organized by the Amélia de Mello Foundation (FAM), the Center for Paradox and Organization and the European Forum for Paradox and Pluralism (EUFFORP).

Paradox and Healthcare

Paradox refers to opposite forces that mutually define one another and persist over time. The fact that organizational and societal issues contain paradoxical features is the point of departure of our debates, our mission consisting in the use of scholarly research on paradox to inform debate and facilitate performance and progress. This year's edition aims to contribute to SDG 3, which provides for ensuring access to quality health care and promoting well-being for all, at all ages. Is not news that the world health system still needs more attention from governments, companies and civil society. According to the UN, half of the world's population does not have access to health services and 100 million people are pushed into poverty due to health costs.
